Program Four
Program 4: Combined License and Doctorate
Individuals who already hold a Masters degree in counseling or a related field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a Doctoral degree in Clinical Christian Counseling. This program requires a total of 16 courses, 8 core courses and 8 advances course.
At the completion of this program, the candidate will receive Certification in Temperament Therapy, a License as a Clinical Pastoral Counselor - Advanced Certified, as well as the Clinical (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Membership (clergy) in the NCCA. In addition the candidate will earn a Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) degree in Clinical Christian Counseling.
Complete Phase I
Each candidate must complete the following 4 courses:
Creation Therapy ($75 fee required to Sarasota Academy)
Basic Christian Counseling
Christian Psychology and Counseling
Quality Ethics and Legal Issues
Additional Requirements
Each Candidate must:
Complete a practicum. This consists of administering the A.P.S. to 10 individuals under the direction of an assigned and approved clinical supervisor.
Student must complete 3 hours of individual mentoring and supervision in Phase I.
Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:
A. Written responses to 50 ethical questions posed by NCCA’s National Licensing Board of Examiners

B. $50 for first year’s annual NCCA dues
​
C. A signed application for Certification and Membership form and a signed copy of NCCA’s Code of Ethical Standards.

After completing the above material you will receive:

* Clinical Member (non-clergy)
* Professional Clinical Member (clergy)

Complete Phase II
​
Each candidate must complete the following 4 courses:
​
Mastering Pastoral Counseling
Counseling the Codependent
Temperament Case Studies
Ministerial Credentials* (optional depending on clergy status

Additional Requirements
​
Each candidate must:
Complete a practicum requirement of administering the A.P.S. to 15 additional individuals under the direction of an assigned and approved clinical supervisor.
Student must have completed 6 hours of individual mentoring and supervision.
3 hours in Phase I and 3 hours in Phase II
Upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:
A. A signed application for license. The Notification and Release Form for Personal National Screening. This form authorizes NCCA to secure a national background check to verify each candidate’s history.

B. A licensing fee of $100.

C. Submit current ministerial credentials*
​
After successfully completing all of the requirements for Phase II, the candidate will
(assuming everything is in order) receive:
A Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor
Complete Phase III
Each candidate must select and complete eight (8) advanced courses
Additional Requirements

Upon completion of the required courses, each candidate submit the following:
A. One copy of a written dissertation. This consists of 35 case studies developed from the candidate’s work with 35 individuals using the APS reports. A format is provided in the course titled Temperament Case Studies.

B. A letter authorizing FEED MY SHEEP SCHOOL OF COUNSELING and the NCCA to transfer the academic records to the approved college.

C. Matriculation and transfer fees of $1500 payable to: NCCA College Fund.

D. $50. Payable to NCCA to upgrade license to Doctorate level of Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor – Advanced Certification
After successfully completing the requirements for Program 4 candidate will receive:
Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor – Advanced Certified
Appropriate advanced certification for selected specialty areas
Clinical Member of NCCA
Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) degree in Clinical Christian Counseling
Annual membership and license renewal is required. Membership is $50 per year and license renewal is $20 per year (total $70). A signed affidavit verifying continuing education must be submitted annually for license renewal.
* Candidates who are already ordained, licensed or commissioned as a minister of the gospel are automatically exempt from this course. Candidates who are not already ordained, licensed or commissioned as a minister of the gospel may be required to complete a course to become commissioned as a Minister of Counseling.
